Estimator & Project Manager

Description:  

Utilize thorough understanding of the scope of work to evaluate bid specifications and properly prepare a successful bid package. Preparation to include, but not limited to, take-off’s, aggressively ascertaining subcontractor and supplier estimates, and estimating labor costs.

Work closely with field supervisors to see the successfully bid project through to completion including specification and bid document compliance, contract negotiation, contract administration, project budget, resource scheduling, change orders & conflict resolution.

Qualifications:  

•Experience with sewer and water main installation, as well as mass earthwork, stabilization, paving and other comparable items.
•Knowledge of the bidding process including performing take-offs, ascertaining material/subcontractor estimates, estimating labor costs, & preparing bids/estimates.
•Demonstrated history of working with both private and public entities including ODOT.
•Capable of multi-tasking, managing deadlines, resolving complex issues & maintaining customer and vendor relationships.
•Ability to effectively communicate with clients regarding project status, targeted completion dates, billing inquiries, unforeseen issues and account maintenance.
•Ability to perform closeout review of projects, including cost analysis and profitability.
•Strong organizational, documentation, computer and communication skills.
•General office knowledge with the ability to work both unattended and as part of a team.

CAD Technician

Description:  

Opportunity for a qualified candidate to work on a wide variety of construction industry projects throughout the local area while expanding their technical skills and experience in a rapid growth and high demand sector of the industry. The Drafting Technician will:
•Produce detailed and precise 3D surface models from 2D plans and specifications for the construction of large scale site and roadway improvement projects via GPS controlled heavy equipment.
•Produce Digital Terrain Model (DTM), Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN), Alignment and Sections files to evaluate construction scopes and prepare projects for active construction.
•Work collaboratively with the firm’s estimating and project management personnel to provide assistance and other CADD related deliverables needed to prepare project cost estimates, construction sequencing plans, value engineering evaluations.
•Work collaboratively with the firm’s survey department to produce coordinate files, road alignments, topographical survey evaluations and other deliverables in support of survey and construction field operations.
•Interface with engineering firms, developers, authorities and other project stakeholders to resolve issues during the project life cycle.
•Manage and maintain file databases.

Qualifications:  

Required Qualifications:
•Knowledge of mathematics including percentages, algebra, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry;
•Knowledge of basic engineering principles and techniques;
•Knowledge of basic construction methods and planning procedures;
•Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practice and procedures in Computer Aided Drawing and Design;
•Ability to read and comprehend engineered drawing and specifications;
•Experience using AutoCAD software to prepare drawing, knowledge of SurvCADD a plus;
•Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities in deadline-driven environment;
•Ability to work both independently and closely with a cross functional team in a collaborative team environment;
•Excellent analytic and computer skills;
•Strong oral and written communication skills.
